What the hell?

David Eagleman, a neuroscientist and author, writes in his book Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain: 

"We are not the ones driving the boat of our behavior, at least not as much as we believe. 

Most of what we do and think and feel is not under our conscious control."

And that’s a sad fact. 

And it gets worse. 

Because if we’re not thinking freely, it means we’re thinking like a slave. 

Our thoughts are mostly not our own. 

We think the thoughts of other people, even when we don’t realize it. 

We say things a Youtuber said. 

We say things a “guru” said. 

We say things our yoga teacher said. 

Even I started this email quoting someone else. 

What’s the key to becoming free?

What's the key to thinking your own thoughts? 

What’s the key to making millions and getting out of the rat race? 

Although it may not seem so at first, all of these questions are connected. 

Those who know how to think original thoughts are the richest people in the 

world. 

Sure you’ve got the occasional Mark Zuckerberg who gets rich off of other people’s ideas.
